They're typically getting stunlocked by the dual-speclight soldats, or being completely bodyblocked by multiple shotgunners at once. All 3 hirelings are damn-near the same level as I am, all of them have 4 corpus the same as I do, and I'm giving them the best gear I've got access to since I USED to be able to afford it.Īnd again, they ARE taking the aggro. I've got an Unarmed, an Acro and a Ranged hireling that I've been kitting out accordingly, and I'm not popping backup right as I walk into the room at Wave 10, I'm popping it once things start going poorly. but I hired random schmucks without any consideration to what's actually good BEFORE those discoveries got made. I'm bringing a team of 3, unfortunately it seems like the "meta" of what's actually half-way decent has already been established by now. Not because they're useful, but because again they distract the baddies. Unfortunately the only use for back-up and teammates is enemy kiting, you just need them to take the aggro and while they're getting sliced and diced you should be focused on defending them. And since there are so MANY of those enemies, the backup dies prettymuch instantly. During that 6 hit combo, you cannot move, cannot attack, can't shoot a gun or throw a knife/grenade.

From what I've seen, the enemies dual-wielding swords can stunlock and get 6 free hits from it, then start the combo AGAIN to get another 6 free hits, and repeat til you die. They get killed almost instantly, even though I have them maxed out. Like I was saying in the original section, I've BEEN using my backup. I also recommend using your backup by holding enter, they don't perform very well during those later waves but they can distract the mob well enough for you to focus the Golems. It also depends on what class you picked, but guns are not as reliable as I wish they were, you get a small pool of ammo that's usually drained by the first or second wave forcing you to grab another off the ground with 5 to 30 rounds at best. I would say there's luck involved but generally speaking just focus on them and things get easier. They almost always eat away your Corpus when two snipers are pinning you. Even if your melee skills are low getting close enough that the Golems swing prevents them from using their guns which is going to be the biggest factor of you loosing ESPECIALLY if they're sniper Golems. My reasoning being that the more little guys you kill the more enemies file in, meaning you end up with two Golems at the same time. I'm not sure where your skill levels are at, but I recommend killing the Golems before worrying about as many of the little guys as possible. I would buy more flashbangs if I could stop burning all my cash on rezzing my hirelings every attempt, since I'm not EARNING money due to failing over and over.Īs someone on new game +++ its really just running in circles picking up dropped weapons and continuing the cycle. It also doesn't help that damn-near every enemy has a VERY heavy Tac-Bar, so I have to waste a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ammo even with Sweet Spot to kill them. I *have* a bunch of weapons I can restock with, but I'm not MAKING it far enough to be able to restock when I need to. The problem is, I've gotten bodied so many times that I have no money. Though, a big enough gun will render it's usefulness limited. I recommend getting flashbangs for yourself (Hirelings will blow you up) since they dizzy enemies frequently which allows you to execute a bunch in a row if you timed correctly and get you TAC-BAR back. If you don't like the sound of that, try buying some more equipment and giving it to yourself and your hirelings by pressing 'i' at the end of a wave.
